San Francisco - City Hall and Civic Center

San Francisco City Hall and Civic Center

The City Hall area has several concert halls, museums, and large open plazas.

This area has huge potential, the beauty of the large and impressive City Hall building with the open plaza in front of it and other large nearby buildings has a lot of potential.

Across the Van Ness Avenue you can find the Opera House.

Also nearby are the War Memorial Veterans Building, Davies Symphony Hall, and the Asian Art Museum.

Unfortunately, the overall attractivity of this area was degraded by crime and huge homeless communities and it is not recommended so much for tourists especially at night.

Tenderloin neighborhood, that is located just north of the City Hall area has a very bad and justified reputation, day, and night.

It is not a recommended area for tourists and locals try not to walk here, nothing will probably happen but defiantly it is not “inviting” location to walk.

I’m not saying that you will be attack or mugged in the middle of the street as you will walk here but you will not feel safe walking in the neighborhood streets, day or night.
