Due note: The park is open year-round from 8:00 a.m. until sunset. Vehicle entrance fees are collected year-round.

My thoughts: Excellent place for afternoon walk or a bike ride that combine some nature viewing. Enjoy the water pounds for bird viewing or even fishing.

The visit:

The park is popular for joggers and bikers, most are using the long, paved trail along the river.

No matter if you entered the trail from the main parking lot, Vasona park, or any other connecting trail you will enjoy this log trail in the middle of the south valley.

On top of the main trail there are few sideway trails that will lead you to side location, with less people and almost no bikes.

The Los Gatos Creek is one of the few urban streams in Santa Clara Valley. It is both a riparian corridor for plants and wildlife and is part of an intricate system of water resources and flood protection.

Water released from Lexington Reservoir flows to the large Vasona Lake. A system of gates at the lake dam releases water downstream to the percolation ponds at Los Gatos Creek County Park. Ultimately, the creek joins the Guadalupe River and flows northward to San Francisco Bay.
