Columbia State Historic Park

Introduction:

Where? : Located in Columbia Village on Parrotts Ferry Road (hwy E18), 1 mile off hwy 49 north of Sonora.

Google Map Link

What? : An old preserved Gold Rush town with several tourist attractions, kids will find this as a place to spend some time.

When? : Year round.

Due note: Parking and entrance to Columbia State Historic Park are free, you have a large parking lot just before the main street.

My thoughts: This is not a must visit location but rather place to stop on the way for short time, if you are traveling with small kids you can spend here more time.

The visit:

This “live” preserved Gold Rush street has several buildings with few attractions. We came early so most were close, so we just saw the building from the outside and visit the blacksmith store that was already open.

You have different activities for kids (like finding gold, visit the Saloons, and few other stores …), check the website for more information.
